LOS ANGLES OCEANWIDE PLAZA

Oceanwide Plaza, the first North American development by prominent international developer Oceanwide Holdings, is set to become one of the most significant mixed-use development in the history of downtown Los Angeles. Oceanwide Plaza will encompass a variety of lifestyle offerings including a new five-star Park Hyatt hotel, a collection of curated retailers and restaurants and a refined residential offering bringing a new level of sophistication to L.A.’s sports and entertainment district.

Located directly adjacent to the Staples Center and L.A. Live, Oceanwide Plaza will comprise three residential and hotel towers along with a seven-story lifestyle podium anchored by an approximately 166,000-square-foot open-air galleria known as The Collection at Oceanwide Plaza. Set to create a vibrant new shopping, dining and entertainment destination, the nearly 700 feet of ribbon-shaped LED signage along Figueroa Street will wrap the generous lifestyle center as the character-defining hallmark of Oceanwide Plaza, greeting local guests and travelers from all over the world.

Developed by Oceanwide Holdings Co. and scheduled for completion in early 2019, Oceanwide Plaza will have a significant impact on economic growth for the city of Los Angeles with the creation of approximately 9,000 jobs over the duration of the project.

DESIGN OVERVIEW

Oceanwide Plaza will offer a noteworthy departure from the standardized glass curtain and masonry architecture of downtown Los Angeles, and instead introducing a sleek white and grey design for the residential towers and hotel, balanced by the curated lifestyle podium raised 100 feet into the air and the LED ribbon which wraps the perimeter of the building. The crowns, balconies and fins all provide elevated accents to the residential towers; while the 700-foot LED ribbon is an eye-catching technological standard-bearer. The architecture will be enhanced by the execution of standout elements, such as the glass elevator with LED bands seen from far distances, the landscaped retail paseos that feature local plant species and the Prodema panels from Legorreta in Spain that clad the sides of the podium.
